Minutes of last meeting
The notice board has been erected. This is mainly for public notices and could include notification of feast days. The church groups need to be contacted for awareness and control needs to be applied on what is to be ‘advertised’. UI
Newsletter
An additional 30 copies of the December newsletters are to be produced. SF
Clerical assistance/office matters
A tour of the office and AM study concluded that good progress had been made. The kitchen area of the office needs de-cluttering and AH requested some help. All
The prayer room files have been moved to the ‘sound’ room and further discussion is needed as to where they should be located. JB
The stored vestments need to be considered for use by visiting priests. UI
The ‘surplus’ church items need to be catalogued and reviewed by AM.
A proposed schedule is required for ongoing office duties. AH
An entry in the newsletter should request that parishioners who have joined over the last 2 years should complete a church parish entry if not already done so. AM
The church greeters need to adopt a formal role in identifying new parishioners. SW
The parish entry form needs to be updated to include a question on directory entry approval. AH
Details should be forwarded to Ian King to keep the database current. UI
The office phone does not allow privacy to messages left for AM, alternative phone options are to be considered. SF
Providing the ‘hub’ is powered on there is no reason for AM PC to be switched on for the office PC to work.
There is no problem in installing a dedicated printer for the office. One needs to be sourced. JB
As AMs PC is so old it was thought just changing the monitor was not worthwhile. Consideration for a new PC will be considered in the future.
The website improvements were noted and it was requested that we all ask users of the site to provide feedback. All
OLLI Progress
The sanctuary is almost completed but money has been withheld until fully completed.
The house renovations are to be completed by 13th December to coincide with a visit from Fr Michael Winstanley, who gave generous financial aid to the project. However it has recently come to light that the outside toilet is broken and needs to be replaced.
The garage has been cleared by Ayotts but most of the items were not fit for sale. When the remaining items are cleared the garage will become a store room.
There are lots of glasses available which could be given away. SW
Any Other Business
2010 sees the Golden Jubilee of the Church. A book needs to be collated and published which captures the last 50 years. The newsletter should request a volunteer who may be interested in history to lead this activity. Planning for other items will also need to get underway. AM
As Fr Winstanley is visiting a housewarming is planned for 14th December 15:00 – 17:00, with tea and cakes in the Church and visits to the house will be conducted for all to appreciate the work that has been undertaken.
It was decided that we should have our Christmas Mass times in an inviting advert in the New Ad.
