SF suggested that the front page of the monthly letter contain more colour.
Clerical assistance/office matters
The main objective is to separate the office and a personal study area for AM.
The office should have it’s own ‘all-in-one’ printer/scanner/copier and access to broadband etc. which should not require AMs PC to be switched on.
It was agreed that a determined effort was needed to radically declutter area’s of the house which contained ‘office’ material.
The next meeting will discuss the ongoing office administration.
The parish directory needs to be supplemented with an addendum of changes since the last issue. Details should be forwarded to Ian K to keep the database current.
Parish website
MR letter stated that JB is taking over the website, although MR and AH will continue supporting it until JB has got his team of five ‘up to speed’. Then MR and AH will just do the finance and admin sections of the site.
JB to contact other parish groups to encourage publication of their activities.
OLLI Progress
Consider putting in additional lights in confessional areas to highlight the stained glass panels, but review appearance with the existing lights switched on first.
Discussion on the colours of the sanctuary wall revealed a general dislike of bold colours. It should be restful with consideration being given to the pale blue as used on the wooden surrounds.
A proposal should be prepared on using the website and VOIP for telephone broadcasting the mass to those who are unable to attend.
Any Other Business
2010 sees the Golden Jubilee of the Church. A book needs to be collated and published which captures the last 50 years. The newsletter should request a volunteer who may be interested in history to lead this activity. Planning for other items will also need to get underway.
Next Meeting – Monday 1st December 19:30 – with maybe an office tour.
