Father John has set us a Lenten Challenge.
Quoting from his article in the February Newsletter:
“During this Lenten season I would like us to do one or two or all of the following:
* At every Sunday Mass look round to find out those who are not there, and when the Mass is over, or during the week, make a phone call to any of them that you know to find out why the person is not there. It is possible That the person is sick and needs the support of the community.
* Try to remember those you have not seen at Mass for a long time and find a way of getting in touch with them and tell them the community is missing them.
* Reach out to those who are not church members and invite them to come and worship with us. In the words of the master in Matthews Gospel 20:9, ‘ Go therefore to the main roads and invite to the wedding feast as many as you can find.’
May God bless us as we carry out his mission through Christ our Lord. Amen. “
I think this is a beautiful practice and one that, if we are faithful to it, will be very beneficial for ourselves and our fellowship. Let’s do it!
